Quebec residents (Law 25)
Personal information of Quebec residents is also subject to An Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Quebec Law 25, formerly Bill 64). If you are a Quebec resident, you may exercise the rights granted under that legislation, including the right to data portability and the right to be informed before any decision based solely on automated processing of your information. We do not currently make any automated decisions about visitors.
International visitors
Visitors from outside Canada, including the European Union, are welcome. We handle personal information of EU residents in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) principles of lawful basis, purpose limitation, and data subject rights. EU residents may exercise the rights set out in GDPR Articles 15 through 22 by contacting us through our Contact page.
Service providers we work with
We rely on a small number of third-party service providers to operate this website. Each is bound by their own privacy commitments:
- MailerLite, our email service provider, handles newsletter subscriptions and broadcasts. MailerLite stores subscriber data in the United States and is GDPR-compliant. See the MailerLite Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics 4, our website analytics provider, collects aggregate visit data with IP anonymization enabled. See the Google Privacy Policy.
- Amazon Associates, our primary affiliate program, may set tracking cookies when you click an Amazon affiliate link. See the Amazon Canada Privacy Notice.
- SiteGround, our website host, processes server logs and provides security monitoring. See the SiteGround Privacy Policy.

Notification of security breaches

Applicable Canadian privacy laws
This Privacy Policy reflects our obligations under the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Quebec Law 25), and the Personal Information Protection Act (Alberta and British Columbia). Manitoba passed The Personal Information Protection and Identity Theft Prevention Act in 2013, but it has never been proclaimed into force, so PIPEDA continues to apply to the private sector in Manitoba.
